What is the truth behind sinning?
It is effortless for us to sin in our thoughts, in our actions and in our dreams. The essence of spirituality lies in slowly burning away the sins in the fire of ‘punya’, good deeds. It is like a bank account. The more good deeds we have in the account of our Karma, the closer we move towards the ultimate truth, towards the state of Siddhatva, or towards mukti. Though it has become a cliche that to ‘err is human’ so much so that, despite knowing that we must do away with the basic attributes that causes one to sin, we seem to forget all of it with the clutches of survival, our emotions and the desires gnawing deep into us. On the other hand, it is said that actions of every human is preordained by God. This is a paradox. What is the truth then?
